Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Guillotine Operator role based at Walsh Colour Print’s facility in Castleisland. The Guillotine Operator will set up, operate, and maintain guillotine cutting machines to accurately trim printed materials to specification. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting job tickets, measuring and checking paper sizes, performing test cuts, and ensuring that finished products meet quality and safety standards. The role also involves routine machine checks, basic troubleshooting, housekeeping of the work area, and close collaboration with press and finishing teams to deliver orders on time. The successful candidate will follow all health and safety procedures and support continuous improvement in production processes.

Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in operating guillotine or similar cutting equipment, including set-up, adjustment, and safe machine handling.
• Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with print or finishing environments, with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
• High attention to detail, strong numeracy and measurement skills, and ability to interpret job dockets, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Effective time management, organization, and teamwork skills, with the capacity to work to deadlines in a fast-paced production setting.

• Previous experience in print finishing or industrial manufacturing is an advantage; relevant vocational or technical training is beneficial.
