Job summary

Skerries Harps GAA Club, based in Skerries, is seeking a Caretaker/Groundsperson. This developmental opportunity requires no prior experience and Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

You will assist in installation and maintenance of the natural environment around the Community Centre, handle on-site equipment, and help ensure safety of pathways and grounds. The role involves routine maintenance of gardens, lawns, and sporting venues, plus responding to maintenance

Qualifications

• This is a developmental opportunity; no experience required.
• Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
• Physically fit and able to manage small and heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining gardens, lawns and sporting venues.
• Caring for and cultivating foliage, including planting, fertilising, weeding, watering, trimming and pruning, soil conditioning and applying pesticides.
• Ensuring pathways, stairs, indoor seating and other structures are safe.
• Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing and tying down unsecured items.
• Operating and maintaining on-site equipment.
• Inspect all community spaces daily to identify problems with litter.
• Respond to requests from property managers and maintenance services as needed.
• Ensure the parking lot and sidewalks are free from litter and debris.
• Maintain sprinkler system and trash receptacles on the premises.
