Job summary

Statkraft seeks a Project Development Intern in Ireland for a six-month internship, supporting the Project Development team in renewable energy projects from early-stage identification to investment decision.

You will work alongside Project Managers and specialists, gaining hands-on experience in wind and solar developments, environmental studies, and project coordination, while developing knowledge of the sector.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Geography, Planning, Natural Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in renewable energy and the development of wind and solar projects.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
• Interest in planning, consenting, environmental assessments, or project management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced project environment.
• Ability to present information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of wind and solar renewable energy projects through site screening, land and grid assessments, environmental studies, and project coordination.
• Assist with environmental assessment processes for renewable energy developments.
• Provide administrative and project support to Project Managers, including reports, documentation, and tracking actions.
• Support early-stage project development activities, including landowner engagement and grid research.
• Coordinate third-party consultants and review deliverables.
• Support the technical design team through data gathering and document management.
• Participate in project meetings and discuss risks, opportunities, and progress.
• Contribute to high environmental, health, safety, and sustainability standards.
• Assist with general research and analysis relating to renewable energy markets and development opportunities.
