Job summary

Kilcoole Vets in Wicklow seeks a confident Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly team. The role offers hands-on nursing with clinical exposure across many duties, including anaesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, inpatient care and client communication.

Qualifications

• VCI Registered Veterinary Nurse or student nurse eligible for registration in 2026.
• Confident with animal handling and monitoring anaesthesia.
• Committed to inpatient care and developing clinical skills.
• Approachable, proactive and able to communicate well with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Anaesthesia monitoring and surgical preparation under guidance.
• Inpatient nursing care, nurse consultations, medication management and patient discharges.
• Post-operative follow-up calls and infection control across the practice.
• Occasional reception or cattery assistance and other duties as needed.
