Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor for Ireland. The role is site-based with regular travel across Ireland and potential opportunities in the UK. Start date by September 2027, with an on-track path to MRICS.

You will support the Senior QS on commercial issues, prepare valuations, cost reports, and procurement schedules, and promote health, safety, and governance in line with SHQE standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics (or set to graduate by September 2027)
• On route to being Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.
• Full driving license.
• All roles are expected to have the relevant competency skills cards.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of Commercial Management Services for individual projects.
• Prepare internal commercial reporting and valuations with full supporting documentation.
• Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts and final accounts.
• Undertake contract administration, change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Challenge and manage cost control and cost mitigation.
• Maintain site records and WBS structures.
• Assist with Cost to Complete and Risk analysis for projects.
