Job summary

The Demo Data Ltd . invites applications for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to support cost planning, procurement, and commercial reporting across residential developments.

You will work with the commercial and project teams to gain practical experience and progress into a Quantity Surveyor role. Ideal candidates are recent grads in Quantity Surveying or related fields, with strong numeracy and attention to detail, and a passion for residential development and cost control.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming graduate in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel between project locations desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost estimates, budgets and cost plans for residential developments.
• Carry out measurement and quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Support preparation of tender packages for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review quotations, prepare tender comparisons and identify best value.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement and subcontract documentation.
• Assist with assessing subcontractor payments and prepare payment recommendations.
• Support valuations and monthly cost reports.
• Identify and value variations to the scope of works.
• Monitor project expenditure and forecast costs with the project QS.
• Maintain accurate commercial records (orders, variations, payments).
• Attend site and commercial meetings and follow up on actions.
• Liaise with site, design, finance and purchasing teams to support delivery.
• Assist with final accounts for subcontractors.
• Develop understanding of contracts, risks and cost control.
• Participate in training and development throughout the graduate programme.
