Job summary

Flynn offers a 12‑month Graduate Quantity Surveyor programme across Ireland, the UK and Europe. You will gain hands‑on experience on high‑profile projects while developing the skills, confidence and commercial awareness to grow your career.

Reporting to project Quantity Surveyors, you will learn cost control, procurement and commercial reporting, with mentoring from experienced teams and regular feedback to support your development within Flynn.

Qualifications

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with project and commercial teams.
• Good written skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions and act on feedback.
• Interest in commercial management, construction project delivery and how projects are planned, costed and controlled.
• Basic knowledge of the construction process and site operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration of project cost records, change order logs, variation records and claims registers, with guidance from the commercial team as you learn.
• Monitor project costs and assist with accurate, timely commercial reporting.
• Assist with procuring and letting subcontractor packages, learning how suppliers and subcontractors are selected, priced and managed on live projects.
• Support the review and validation of subcontractor and supplier interim payment applications.
• Help identify, document and track variations, claims, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Develop strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Take direction, ask questions and contribute positively to the commercial delivery of successful projects.
