Job summary

Arup in Cork invites applications for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to contribute to sustainable building projects. You will gain hands-on experience, structured development, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams from concept through delivery.

You will design and support mechanical building services, HVAC systems, and low-carbon solutions, with mentoring and formal training programs to build your technical and professional skills.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or bachelor's degree (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) in the listed disciplines.
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role.
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, before employment starts.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of mechanical building services systems for a wide range of projects.
• Assist in the design and specification of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Contribute to sustainable and low-carbon design solutions that improve building performance.
• Develop engineering calculations, reports, drawings and technical specifications.
• Use digital engineering tools and BIM processes to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers and other specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in site visits, surveys, inspections and design reviews.
• Support project coordination, quality assurance processes and technical submissions.
• Develop your technical, commercial and professional skills through mentoring and structured training programmes.
