Job summary

Cundall in Ireland is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team and work on exciting design projects across education, healthcare, and retail. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary design deliverables and learn through accredited development programmes toward Chartership.

You'll gain experience in water flow and highway design, flood risk assessments and sustainable solutions, with a supportive environment, competitive salary, and clear progression paths.

Qualifications

  • On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.
  • Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Have a keen interest in civil design and analysis for the built environment, and a passion for creative and intuitive design.
  • Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you'll have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, with Grasshopper or Dynamo, or at least one modern programming language (Python, C#, VB).
  • You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative in nature, you'll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and contribute to civil engineering projects across Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems and Retail.
  • Provide specialist consultancy input in multi-disciplinary teams on diverse projects.
  • Carry out water flow and highways design including flood risk assessments and hydrological analyses.
  • Translate client needs into sustainable building and infrastructure designs.
  • Progress to greater levels of responsibility with accredited development programmes.

The Role You'll Play

You'll join as a Graduate Civil Engineer within our Civil Engineering team to work on the design of some of the most exciting construction design projects in the UK and worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice, you'll provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems and Retail.

Under the guidance of our team of expert engineers, this wide-ranging role will see you carrying out water flow and highways design including; flood risk assessments, hydrological assessments, road horizontal and vertical alignment, and earthworks analysis.

This role will require you to use your knowledge and expertise to define and translate clients’ needs into designs for buildings, infrastructure, facilities and services with sustainability at the forefront of the design.

You'll have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and with accredited professional development programmes from the ICE and IStructE, you'll be supported towards Chartership.

The Skills You'll Bring
  • On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.

  • Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, so ideally, you'll have an understanding of Parametric ModellingTechniques(Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).
  • You are organiser and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative in nature, you'll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You're used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.
