This is a position with grade 15. This position reports to Cluster Local Division Manager Ireland.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Graduate Automation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to support medium to large automation projects, from functional design specifications and detailed engineering documentation through to implementation and testing. You will support in the design and implementation of technical batch applications using ABB’s 800xA system in the Pharmaceutical, BioTech, and Chemical Industries, providing both onsite and offsite support for the installed base. The work model for the role is onsite, based full time at our Cork office. This role contributes to the Ireland, Process Automation – Energy Industries business. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Participating in project technical design and clarification meetings.
• Collaborating across different disciplines including Software, Hardware, Documentation, and Validation.
• Understanding and preparing FAT and SAT Test plans.
• Supporting onsite and offsite system maintenance and service activities.
• Adhering to health and safety policies and procedures, with support from the health and safety team.
• Developing logical solutions to meet customer requirements and interfacing with multiple diverse systems.

Qualifications For The Role

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/software/automation engineering or a related discipline.
• Some experience with DCS/PLC programs is preferable but not essential.
• Ability to work with remote teams on projects across multiple locations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Action-oriented and analytical.
• Ability to work well within a team environment and on own initiative.
• Strong organizational skills and technical knowledge.
• Flexible and proactive.
