Job summary

Qualcomm is seeking a candidate to join the Cork team in a post-silicon lab role focused on characterization, power analysis and voltage margin optimization for Adreno GPU cores. You’ll work with architecture, design, software and production engineering teams to drive the most advanced GPUs in mobile and compute devices.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in system-level validation with emphasis on power analysis, digital circuit characterization, and lab measurement across silicon iterations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Strong programming and debugging skills in C/C++, Python/Perl, and scripting.
• Experience with power, performance and thermal behavior measurements on silicon.

Responsibilities

• Characterize and correlate post-silicon lab results.
• Work on power analysis and voltage margin optimizations for GPU core.
• Collaborate with architecture, design, SW and production eng. teams to enable productization.
• Develop device driver code and scripts for data analysis and test automation.
• Validate mixed-signal IP and debug hardware/software issues.

General Summary

In this position, candidate will be working on characterization and correlation activities in Post Silicon Lab environment. Candidate would work towards power analysis and voltage margin optimizations for Adreno GPU core. Candidate will work in with cross-functional teams, such as the architecture, design, SW and production engineering teams, to commercialize our most advanced, high-performance and power-efficient GPUs in the next mobile and computing devices.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have 3+ Yrs Of Related Experience In System-level Validation With Focus On Power Analysis And Characterization Of Digital Circuits And In One Or More Below Areas

• System validation on emulation platforms and on silicon with experience in chip bring-up and debug.
• Programming of device drivers in C language
• Debugging low-level software and hardware issues
• Scripting in Python for data analysis and test automations
• Validation and debug of mixed-signal IP
• Measurement of power, performance and thermal behaviors on silicon

Required Skills

• Excellent C/C++ programming skills
• Excellent Perl/Python scripting skills
• Knowledge in the power consumption concepts in digital circuits
• Knowledge in the ARM CPU architecture and AHB/AXI bus protocols

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

• Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.
