• 5+ years in governance, risk, compliance or legal roles in multi-site or regulated environment.
• Degree or professional qualification in law, governance, risk, health and safety, healthcare.

Brief Description

Governance, Risk & Compliance Officer

Ethos Care | Remote (Ireland) with travel | Full-time, Permanent

Lead governance at a growing national care group

Ethos Care cares for older people in 18 HIQA-registered nursing homes across Ireland. We plan to grow to 21 centres by the end of 2027, and strong governance is central to that growth.

This is a group-wide leadership role with direct visibility at Board level. You will lead risk, compliance and safeguarding across every centre, giving our Board and senior leadership team the assurance they need. You will also help make compliance practical, so that it supports our teams rather than slowing them down.

What You Will Do

• Lead the group’s risk management framework and report to the senior leadership team and Board.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, including HIQA inspections, notifications and new centre registrations.

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years’ experience in governance, risk, compliance or legal roles, ideally in a multi-site or regulated environment.
• A degree or professional qualification in law, governance, risk, health and safety, healthcare or nursing.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and Irish health and safety legislation.
• Proven experience building and running risk management frameworks.
• The confidence to report to a Board and to challenge senior colleagues constructively.
• A full, clean driving licence.

Experience in a HIQA-regulated or healthcare setting, or a qualification in data protection, health and safety or risk management, would be a distinct advantage.
