GoCar Carsharing Limited is seeking a General Operative to keep our fleet clean, safe and customer ready across multiple bases. This hands-on role covers vehicle cleaning, basic safety checks, and fleet movements to ensure availability for customers on the GoCar network.
You will work independently across locations, manage daily workload, follow safety procedures and use mobile apps and systems to update job records and schedules. Training provided.
GoCar is looking for a motivated and reliable General Operative to support the day-to-day operation of our car-sharing fleet. This is a hands-on operational role focused on ensuring GoCar vehicles are clean, safe, roadworthy and available for customers across our network. The successful candidate will work across GoCar bases and locations, carrying out vehicle cleaning, safety checks, basic maintenance activities, vehicle movements and other operational tasks. As GoCar operates a large, geographically dispersed fleet, the role requires someone who can work independently, manage their daily workload effectively and respond to changing operational priorities.
Previous experience in fleet operations, vehicle cleaning, valeting, car rental, car sharing, logistics, delivery or a similar operational environment would be an advantage but is not essential. Basic mechanical knowledge, such as checking tyres, oil, fluids and general vehicle condition, would also be beneficial. Training will be provided on GoCar processes, systems and fleet standards.
The role requires flexibility to work across the GoCar network and travel between different vehicle bases and locations. The successful candidate will work an agreed roster of 5 days over 7, Monday to Sunday, which may include evening and weekend work. As GoCar is a car-sharing service with vehicles operating throughout the day, workload and priorities can change depending on customer bookings, vehicle movements, fleet availability and operational requirements.
This is an opportunity to play an important role in the day-to-day operation of Ireland's car-sharing fleet. The General Operative directly supports the customer experience by ensuring vehicles are clean, safe, available and ready when customers need them. You will work across a varied fleet and network, gaining practical experience in vehicle operations, fleet maintenance, car sharing and mobility while contributing directly to GoCar's operational standards and continued growth.

More info at: www.europcar-mobility-group.com At the end of the 19th century, the car was a luxury reserved for the elite, but interested everyone, attracting crowds: in 1898, the first car show was held in Paris. Car rental will see the light a few years later, across the Atlantic, but its development will be stopped by the first and then by the Second World Wars. In the aftermath of the war, a Parisian entrepreneur revived the idea: If you can’t afford to buy a car, why not rent one when you need it? His name was Raoul-Louis Mattei and in 1949, he created "L'Abonnement Automobile": a company that would later become the Compagnie Internationale Europcars, then Europcar. Its headquarters, located 11 rue du Champ de Mars also included a rental agency. The company’s success was rapid, as car rental responded to a real need. In 1951, l’Abonnement Automobile was the first company for car rental without a driver and its fleet counted 750 4 CV. Now, the Europcar Mobility Group has over 200,000 vehicles on average in its fleet and serves 5 million customers in more than 140 countries. But the vision our Group was founded upon remains the same, while being more relevant and promising than ever, while we are entering the usage and sharing economy era!
