Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Network Architect to lead the design and implementation of its global network, including applications and services layered on top. You will mentor the team, partner with operations, and drive modernization, resiliency, and efficiency.

Responsibilities include translating concepts to physical designs, addressing capacity and non-functional requirements, and guiding engineering and application teams to meet business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical discipline required.
• 10+ years with IP networks and related services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, NAC).
• Experience with routing, security, and data-center strategies for colocation.
• Proven ability to design and troubleshoot complex enterprise networks.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement Northern Trust's global network across services.
• Lead and mentor team members in design, support, and engineering.
• Drive availability, performance and cost-efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with operations and application teams; act as escalation point.
