Job summary

AbbVie in Ireland seeks a Senior MES Engineer to design, implement, and optimize Manufacturing Execution System solutions across AbbVie's global network, supporting digital transformation and operational excellence.

You will lead technical design, configuration, testing, and governance of MES across multiple sites, mentor engineers, and collaborate with IT, automation, and operations to drive process improvements while ensuring cGMP compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of MES experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, automation, or regulated environments.
• Solid understanding of digital manufacturing concepts, MES technology operation, and IT/OT integration.
• Experience with process improvement, system analysis, and technical documentation in multi-site/global environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with MES COE Lead and cross-functional teams to deliver MES solutions aligned with enterprise strategy and standards.
• Lead technical design, configuration, integration, and testing of MES applications for multiple manufacturing modalities and sites.
• Develop, document, and maintain MES best practices, SOPs and governance materials.
• Engage in Communities of Practice meetings and template standardization for MES processes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to MES engineers.
• Support adoption of new MES technology and digital transformation initiatives at site and network levels.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify MES-driven process improvements and harmonization.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, regulatory requirements, and AbbVie standards.
