Job summary

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland seeks a Clinical Director, Global Training and Partnerships to lead RCPI's international postgraduate medical education and partnership activities. You will shape strategy, govern programmes, and build sustainable international collaborations to align with RCPI standards and workforce needs.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee residency initiatives, educational product development, and stakeholder engagement across ministries, universities

Qualifications

• Medical specialist registered on the Specialist Division of the Medical Council (or equivalent recognised specialist register).
• Fellow of RCPI or equivalent postgraduate medical training body.
• Significant experience in postgraduate medical education and specialist training.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within clinical, educational or training environments.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across healthcare, academia or government.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Strong understanding of governance, quality assurance and accreditation processes in postgraduate medical education.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic clinical leadership for RCPI's international training and partnerships.
• Contribute to RCPI's international growth strategy in education and training.
• Chair or lead international training and partnership governance structures.
• Identify opportunities for new international programmes, partnerships, services and markets.
• Lead the design, development and oversight of joint residency programmes with international partners.
• Ensure programmes meet RCPI standards, accreditation requirements and local workforce priorities.
• Monitor governance, risk and programme outcomes; drive continuous improvement.
