Job summary

Morgan McKinley is hiring a Financial Controller for a multinational financial services client in Ireland. The role covers financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, regulatory reporting and overall finance operations.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate information, strong controls and timely reporting, working with senior management and auditors. Requires ACA/ACCA/CPA with 5+ years PQE and strong Excel, SAP and Power BI skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent and a relevant third-level qualification.
• Minimum five years post-qualification experience in a finance or financial control role.
• Strong experience in management accounting, financial reporting and month-end close processes.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial performance reporting.
• Good understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Exposure to VAT and corporate tax reporting is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills; SAP and Power BI experience would be beneficial.
• Analytical, organised and detail-oriented with deadline-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting analysis.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, investigating and explaining variances against budget and prior periods.
• Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts and financial planning activities.
• Prepare financial statistics, management reports and presentations for senior management and board-level review.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory reporting submissions.
• Support tax compliance activities, including VAT and corporate tax reporting.
• Maintain strong financial controls and support balance sheet, accounts payable and receivable reconciliations.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, liquidity management and treasury-related activities.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors and external advisors as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting efficiencies.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required.
