Job summary

AbbVie seeks an Associate Director of Aseptic Product Quality to lead the Eye Care external quality program. You will partner with TPMs/CMOs and internal teams to ensure robust product quality, drive aseptic best practices, and manage investigations and risk across the external manufacturing network.

You will oversee aseptic assessments, support investigations, and advance continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with AbbVie sites and global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or related field; graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years in Quality Assurance Operations Management, Regulatory, or Technical Support in pharma.
• Experience with regulatory inspections and direct interaction with inspectors.
• Direct plant experience in pharma with 5+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead aseptic External & Product Quality Assurance Eye Care Global Team with strategy development and implementation.
• Perform due diligence visits to prospective TPMs/CMOs as part of cross-functional teams.
• Conduct hands-on assessments of aseptic manufacturing operations and drive best-practice adoption.
• Provide technical leadership for aseptic investigations and CAPA development.
• Monitor regulatory expectations and industry trends in aseptic manufacturing and contamination control.
• Deliver risk-based recommendations to support external quality operations and manufacturing strategies.
