Job summary

Stripe is seeking an experienced Incident Response Manager (IRM) to drive the right level of response to major incidents across reliability, security, and privacy domains. You will coordinate global teams, determine impact, and lead communications to users and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of demonstrable major incident experience for organizations that run mission critical applications or always-on Saas environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple incidents concurrently with authority and influence responders with agency and reasoning skills.
• Intermediate understanding of cloud-based applications and architectures.
• Good understanding of infrastructure including physical, virtual, and container-based compute platforms.
• Strong data manipulation and analysis skills using SQL, Splunk or similar tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-call Incident Commander driving incident resolution with urgency and cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead user-facing incidents across domains including reliability, security, and privacy.
• Communicate impact, provide situation reports, and coordinate external communications to users.
• Update stakeholders, make data-driven decisions, and influence cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to post-mortems and RCA processes ensuring timely remediation and SLA adherence.
• Drive improvements in incident handling, metrics, and tooling with engineering and product teams.
• Support team culture and participate in cross-team initiatives.
