Qualifications

Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for a GIS Analyst for their team. The role is an excellent opportunity for someone motivated in starting or furthering a career in the renewable energy sector.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist team members in collating, analysing, and presenting various datasets;
  • Prepare high quality mapping and analytical assessments to inform project development;
  • Developing and deploying GIS mapping solutions;
  • Implement resilient data management processes and be able to work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst working with challenging deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Assist team members in collating, analysing, and presenting various datasets;
  • Prepare high quality mapping and analytical assessments to inform project development;
  • Developing and deploying GIS mapping solutions;
  • Implement resilient data management processes and be able to work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst working with challenging deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Degree or Post-Graduate Qualification (e.g. GIS, Data Analytics, Remote Sensing or related/relevant discipline);
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role;
  • Have a keen interest in renewable energy systems;
Required Skills
  • Highly competent in the use of GIS software and extensions for analysis, map production and database management;
  • Experience with QGIS/ArcGIS and associated applications for data presentation and field collection;
  • Knowledge of current sources of publicly available Geospatial data and experience of working with environmental and planning related datasets;
  • Knowledge of appropriate map projections and transformations in the Irish context;
  • Experience in importing, converting, referencing, and exporting CAD data in a GIS environment;
  • Production of large map sets of publication quality mapping;
  • Have a passion for GIS and desire to keep informed on the latest GIS developments and how they can be applied to existing projects;
