Job summary

Arup in Ireland is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join a highly specialised team working on major international commissions and significant Irish infrastructure projects. You will focus on geotechnical design and delivery while gaining exposure to the full breadth of Ground Engineering disciplines.

The role offers a stimulating environment to advance technical, business, and people skills, with opportunities to mentor junior colleagues and travel for on-site work when needed.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering.
• Post-graduate Geotechnical Engineering or Soil Mechanics is an advantage.
• Full driving licence is a strong advantage.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Deliver geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and earthworks on major international commissions and Irish infrastructure.
• Prepare design reports, technical specifications, desk studies and site walkovers for developments.
• Plan, supervise and interpret ground investigations; provide technical support during construction, including site visits.
• Incorporate digital tools, automation and numerical analysis to enhance project delivery.
• Develop project management and commercial awareness, mentoring junior colleagues, and strengthening leadership.
