This is a unique opportunity to join a specialist consultancy at an early stage of its development, working directly alongside experienced engineers and gaining exposure to a diverse range of geotechnical projects across infrastructure, residential, rail, ports and ground improvement sectors. For an ambitious early-career engineer, this role offers the opportunity to develop quickly, take ownership of meaningful work and become a key member of a growing business rather than simply another engineer within a large team.

Why this opportunity?
  • Join a growing specialist geotechnical consultancy at a pivotal stage of expansion
  • Work directly with senior engineers and gain exposure to all aspects of project delivery
  • Combine site-based investigation and inspection work with technical design responsibilities
  • Develop broad geotechnical experience across earthworks, ground improvement, retaining structures and infrastructure projects
  • Have the opportunity to influence the growth and future direction of the business
  • Gain valuable contractor-facing experience and develop strong industry relationships
Your new role as Geotechnical Engineer

Working as part of a close-knit technical team, you will be involved in both site-based activities and geotechnical design delivery, supporting projects from initial investigation through to construction.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking site inspections and supporting geotechnical assessments, particularly relating to earthworks, ground improvement and construction activities
  • Providing geotechnical support during project delivery, working closely with contractors and project teams
  • Assisting with the design and assessment of geotechnical solutions including slopes, embankments, retaining structures, excavations and foundations
  • Preparing technical reports, calculations and design documentation
  • Supporting ground investigation interpretation and development of engineering solutions
  • Working across a diverse portfolio of projects including rail, ports, residential and infrastructure developments
  • Developing strong relationships with contractors, clients and project stakeholders
  • Supporting the continued growth and technical development of the consultancy
What you will need to succeed as Geotechnical Engineer
  • Technical experience: A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline
  • 1-2 years' experience within a geotechnical engineering environment
  • A good understanding of geotechnical principles and ground engineering design
  • Experience supporting site investigations, earthworks, ground improvement or construction activities would be advantageous
  • Strong interest in developing a career within specialist geotechnical engineering
Additional requirements
  • Based in Dublin or the surrounding area
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred due to site-based requirements
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with contractors and project teams
What's in it for you?
  • A competitive salary package reflective of experience
  • The opportunity to join a specialist consultancy during an exciting period of growth
  • Direct exposure to experienced technical leaders and decision makers
  • A varied role combining site work, design and contractor engagement
  • The opportunity to develop into a key technical member of the business as the company expands
  • Significant career development opportunities within a growing specialist engineering consultancy
