Geotechnical Design Engineer - Civil Infrastructure Projects - Limerick City

Office/Project Location: Limerick City

Employment Type: Permanent

Work Location: Office Based / Hybrid

Pay: Salary Negotiable

Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required

Our client is an international engineering consultancy undergoing rapid growth in Ireland.

You will join our Geotechnical sector, which is responsible for a wide range of energy, road, and commercial projects throughout Ireland.

The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of project development from conceptual design, site investigation, and detailed design, through to on-site monitoring.

1. Aid senior engineers in the design elements for projects to current regulations and design standards.
2. Help in the production of drawings and reports.
3. Co-ordinate with engineers of other disciplines and the wider MWP group.
4. Attend meetings with clients, other consultants, and contractors during the course of projects.
5. Ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines.
6. Ensure compliance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation.
7. Conduct site visits across Ireland and attend meetings across Ireland.
8. Prepare geotechnical investigation plans including field investigations and laboratory testing.
9. Prepare Geotechnical factual reports, interpretive reports, and baseline reports.
10. Prepare design basis memoranda, technical memoranda, and reports, and coordinate report preparation within a multidisciplinary team.
11. Planning and managing CAD documentation, working closely with CAD Technicians.
12. Prepare technical specifications and participate in the analysis of bids.
13. Work closely with peers, junior engineers and other discipline engineers to ensure delivery that will meet utility standards, industry standards and meet good engineering practices, policies and procedures.

Requirements:

1. QQI Level 8 or 9 Qualification in an accredited Engineering programme.
2. Good technical ability in all aspects of your field of engineering.
3. Good knowledge and experience of current EN Standards.
4. AutoCAD and drafting software experience.
5. Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Ability to work as part of a team.
7. Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to work well with others in a multi-disciplinary project team.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
9. Full Driving Licence in Category B.
10. Knowledge of current government forms of contract documentation would be an advantage.
