Job summary

Arup is offering a graduate work placement in Geospatial information systems in Dublin. You will use ArcGIS Pro and FME to capture, process and visualise data, delivering maps, dashboards and interactive maps for internal and external clients.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain data standards, and develop innovative geospatial solutions while gaining exposure to a global advisory and design practice.

Qualifications

  • Currently undertaking a graduate level qualification in GIS/Remote Sensing or related ICT/geospatial field.
  • Experience using ArcGIS Pro and Desktop extensions (Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst).
  • Experience with spatial ETL (FME) and data management standards.
  • Data management and standards knowledge; strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with geospatial technologies to capture, process, analyse, and visualise data.
  • Run automated systems and processes.
  • Deliver geospatial project tasks (pdf maps, webmaps, workflows, data solutions).
  • Deliver dashboards, Storymaps, interactive maps/apps for clients.
  • Collaborate with staff from other disciplines and uphold geospatial standards.

The Opportunity

During your work placement your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with a range of Geospatial technologies to capture, process, analyse, and visualise data.
  • Run automated systems and processes.
  • Deliver Geospatial project tasks on time e.g., pdf maps, webmaps, methodologies/workflows, data management solutions.
  • Deliver dynamic, innovative solutions to internal and external clients by thinking both logically and creatively e.g., dashboards, Storymaps, interactive webmaps/apps.
  • Work with staff from other disciplines and demonstrate the value of good Geospatial standards and practices.

We seek the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:

Required:

  • Be currently undertaking a graduate level qualification in Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, or another ICT/geospatial technology related field.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience using ArcGIS Pro and Desktop extensions (Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst)
  • Experience using spatial ETL applications, specifically FME, for data conversions
  • Experience preparing map documents
  • Data management and standards knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
