Job summary

Myn is seeking an experienced General Practitioner to lead medical care across multiple nursing homes in Drogheda, Ardee and Balbriggan. You will deliver resident-centered care under the GMS contract and privately where needed, collaborating with nursing and care teams to enhance wellbeing.

As GP lead you will perform HIQA-aligned assessments, support care planning, conduct medication reviews, and participate in service development and quality improvement across the network.

Qualifications

• Specialist Registration in General Practice with the Irish Medical Council.
• Eligibility for a GMS list.
• Minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience, incl. at least one year in Ireland.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine interest in geriatric care and improving outcomes for older people.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate General Practitioner (GP) to provide medical care across multiple nursing home locations.

About the Role

As the GP lead, you will work closely with nursing and care teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred medical care to residents, supporting their health, wellbeing and quality of life.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing care to medical card holders under the General Medical Services (GMS) contract, with a list available for transfer


• Conducting medical assessments in line with relevant HIQA standards


• Providing private medical care to residents who are not medical card holders


• Supporting care planning, medication reviews and end-of-life care


• Contributing to service development, research and quality improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria
