Job summary

GMC Utilities Group in Wicklow is seeking an experienced Gas Fitter to join our team on projects across Wicklow. The role involves metering, site works and customer/shipper activities under the GNI maintenance contract, with availability for emergency first response duties as per rota.

Compensation includes €26.90 per hour plus a substantial stand-by package, reflecting the critical nature of maintaining gas infrastructure and safety standards across domestic and commercial premises.

Qualifications

• Gas industry experience required.
• Confident, motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair gas network infrastructure in domestic and commercial premises.
• Ensure compliance with Irish gas safety standards.
• Respond to gas leak reports and assist other emergency services as needed.
• Restore gas supply to properties after maintenance and emergency works.
• Receive and complete work using a mobile device.
