Overview

The successful candidate will join the IBM Law Department as part of an international team located in Dublin, Ireland (applicants based elsewhere will be required to relocate). The team advises on a range of general legal matters (including Procurement, NDAs, HR, data privacy, transactional support and negotiations) and compliance matters (such as compliance with FCPA and other anticorruption laws) across geographies.

Role and Responsibilities

IBM is looking for a French qualified lawyer (Avocat/Juriste) to join our Legal team based in Dublin, Ireland, to support IBM’s business primarily in France. The successful candidate will support IBM\'s contract engagements in the commercial and public sectors and provide general legal advice on various matters.

Key responsibilities include negotiating, drafting and advising on a variety of commercial transactions with suppliers and clients such as master services agreements, agreements for the supply and support of hardware and software, cloud agreements, data processing agreements, DORA addendums, NDAs and other agreements. The lawyer will also advise on a variety of legal issues related to back-to-back contracts with subcontractors, marketing matters such as sponsorship agreements, compliance (Loi Sapin II, FCPA), HR, etc.

The varied workload will allow the lawyer gain broad experience and build meaningful skills, fostering their professional growth and developing their legal career in IBM in Ireland.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Lawyer’s degree: an M2 in Law from a French University
  • Fluent in English and French
  • At least 2 years of legal experience in private practice or in-house building skills in commercial and contract law
  • Strong ability to analyse various transactions and requests and understand the legal risks associated with provision of IT services
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to build relationships and collaborate across various internal functions
  • Good time management skills and ability to handle urgent situations and pressure
  • Team player and fast learner, ability to quickly learn processes, applicable legislation and business model
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Avocat qualification: Admission to the Bar Association in France
