Job summary

Salesforce is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers—experienced Technical Builders who design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments.

You will work with delivery teams, partnering with Deployment Strategists to ship production-ready AI solutions from day one, engage with multiple customers, and accelerate business impact through real code, real environments, and rigorous engineering practices.

Qualifications

Role Overview

Salesforce is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers – experienced Technical Builders who design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a delivery team, partnering closely with a Deployment Strategist to co‑build solutions that go live in production environments from day one.
• Engage with a range of customers, from a single large strategic account to multiple accounts, focusing on real code, real environments, and measurable business impact.
• Configure, customize, and deploy full‑stack AI solutions, shipping solutions customers depend on.
• Ship real customer solutions supported by best‑in‑class AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, and Salesforce coding products like Vibes, embedded into day‑to‑day workflow.
• Own real components, benefit from structured mentorship, and progress toward leading complex deliveries.
• Develop, deploy, and validate capabilities across Agentforce, data, platform, and headless architectures, feeding field insights directly to product teams.
• Experiment with emerging AI tools, models, and frameworks, sharing learnings with teammates and customers.
• Design agent intelligence, including prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems.
• Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms, modeling the data, shipping the pipeline, and validating outputs.
• Create agent performance dashboards and KPI reporting to track deployment health and business outcomes.
• Contribute to proofs‑of‑concept and MVPs that move from sketch to deployable in days, not months.
• Co‑build alongside customers and partners, sharing best practices and enablement to leave teams more capable.
• Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to senior Engineers and the product team.
• Translate customer business challenges into agentic solutions in close partnership with the Deployment Strategist.

Qualifications

• Production experience required; builder mindset is non‑negotiable.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time, working directly alongside customers.
• Prior customer‑facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward‑deployed engineering).
• Hands‑on with LLMs and prompt engineering; able to explain prompt failures and improvements.
• Fluency in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex, and openness to expand skill set as needed.
• Strong coding quality and engineering rigor in evaluating AI outputs.
• Ability to communicate confidently in a room with sales teams and customer architects.
• Three or more years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production system to showcase—ideally in an AI tech stack, full‑stack development, or frontier models.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Team orientation, thriving in collaborative group chat environments.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns for design.
• Salesforce platform experience or certifications (Administrator, Platform Developer I, Agentforce Specialist).
• Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex and orchestration patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
• Experience across specialist AI delivery areas: data engineering, platform architecture, or headless deployments.
