Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in Dublin (Hybrid) to embed with enterprise clients and translate needs into working solutions. You will write production code (Python/TypeScript), develop data pipelines, and own deployments from scope to post-launch support.

You’ll travel or spend time on-site as required and communicate with stakeholders while delivering robust software that scales with client requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a software engineer (full-stack or backend).
• Able to scope and build from vague problems without a full spec.
• Communicates clearly with non-technical stakeholders while delivering solid code.
• Startup/consulting experience is a plus and demonstrates rapid delivery.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Dublin and open to travel.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with enterprise customers to scope and build solutions on our platform.
• Write production code (Python/TypeScript) - APIs, data pipelines, automation, internal tools.
• Debug live with the client, often under time pressure.
• Own deployment end to end: scoping, building, shipping, supporting after launch.
• Report insights from the field to help product build the right features.
• Be the main technical contact for accounts and improve deployment speed.

Forward Deployed Engineer

Dublin (Hybrid) | Full-time

About the Role

You’ll embed with enterprise clients, figure out what they actually need, and build it - custom integrations, pipelines, and workflows on top of our core platform. You own delivery start to finish: scope it with the client, write the code, ship it, fix what breaks. Expect regular travel or time on-site, and expect the work to shift week to week depending on who you’re sitting with.

You’ll watch your code go into production in front of the people using it, see what breaks, fix it there, and take what you learned straight back to product. If you want that loop tight - build something, see it work or not, adjust - this is built for that.

What you’ll do

• Work directly with enterprise customers to scope and build solutions on our platform

• Debug live with the client watching, often under time pressure
• Own a deployment end to end: scoping, building, shipping, supporting it after launch
• Report back what you’re seeing in the field so product builds the right things
• Be the main technical point of contact for your accounts
• Build tooling and playbooks so each deployment gets faster

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years as a software engineer, full-stack or backend
• Can work from a vague problem without needing a full spec
• Communicates well with non-technical stakeholders, still writes solid code
• Startup or consulting background helps - people used to moving fast and owning outcomes
• Based in or willing to relocate to Dublin, open to travel (20-40%)
• Bonus: data pipelines, LLM integrations, or enterprise SaaS deployment experience
