Job summary

Reddilift Forklift Services in Galway is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing forklifts and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience, strong fault-finding skills, and familiarity with hydraulic, electrical and braking systems. Diesel and LPG powered machines are common in our workshop.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience as a Forklift Mechanic or in a closely related mechanical maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical and braking systems.
• Experience servicing diesel and LPG-powered machinery is an advantage.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and repair information.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine, preventative and emergency maintenance on forklifts.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and braking system faults.
• Use manufacturer manuals and diagnostic information to identify faults and carry out repairs.
• Inspect forklifts and identify mechanical defects and safety issues.
• Diagnose and repair forklift masts, attachments and related components.
• Carry out brake servicing and repairs.
• Replace tyres, wheels and defective components.
• Service and repair diesel and LPG-powered forklifts.
• Replace defective parts and arrange replacement parts where required.
• Carry out safety checks and ensure forklifts are maintained to the required standard.
• Maintain accurate records of servicing and repairs.
• Follow company health and safety procedures.
• Work effectively as part of the maintenance team.

Salary and Conditions

• €37,000–€40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• Overtime opportunities available.
