A leading Irish food firm in Longford is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee compliance with their Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to supplier monitoring, conduct audits, and support new product development. Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of BRC standards and retailer requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to supplier monitoring and control procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits ensuring follow-up and closure of corrective actions.
  • Oversee the calibration of all measuring equipment.
  • Deliver staff training on food safety procedures.

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity to join an Irish firm who have grown in laps and bounds over the last number of decades. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Quality Manager will play a key role within the Quality team, supporting compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and driving continuous improvement across the site.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Ensure adherence to supplier monitoring and control procedures.
  • Prepare and complete customer specifications, questionnaires, and tender documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits (e.g., traceability and fabrication), ensuring follow-up and closure of corrective actions.
  • Support new product development from a quality perspective.
  • Oversee the calibration of all measuring equipment.
  • Deliver staff training on food safety procedures.
  • Act as site lead for the Hygiene team.
  • Assist with customer queries and complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of QMS and HACCP systems.
  • Provide cover for the Technical Manager when required.
  • Support the Technical Manager with additional tasks as needed.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work on own initiative.
  • Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of BRC standards and retailer requirements.
