Job summary

SLR Environmental Consulting (Ireland) Ltd is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Modeller to join our Hydrology and Modelling team in Dublin or Cork, with flexible and remote options across Ireland.

You will lead hydraulic modelling projects from planning to detailed design, work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff while supporting proposals and business development.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience (5+ years) delivering hydraulic modelling projects in Ireland/UK.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Knowledge of Flood Planning Guidelines and Irish hydraulic modelling standards.
• Advanced experience with TUFLOW (including ESTRY) and Flood Modeller; TUFLOW FV desirable.
• Experience with QGIS or other GIS packages.
• Demonstrated leadership and technical review of complex modelling projects.
• Strong reporting, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Desire to mentor junior team members.
• Full driving licence valid in Ireland for site visits.
• Chartered status with relevant institution or working towards Chartership.

Job description

SLR is a global leader in sustainability solutions, working with clients to help make sustainability happen, within a collaborative, people-first culture. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Modeller to join our established Hydrology and Modelling team, delivering high-profile flood risk, water quality and environmental modelling projects. Based in Dublin or Cork (with flexible and remote working options across Ireland, part time or full time), the role will focus primarily on flood risk management and hydraulic modelling, with additional exposure to water quality, sediment transport and large-scale green energy infrastructure developments, as well as a broader portfolio spanning renewables, infrastructure, power, industrial and built environment sectors. The role is aimed at an Associate level approx 8yrs experience (grades run from Graduate - Project – Senior – Associate – Principal – Technical Director), however we would be happy to hear from anyone with 3yrs+ experience

The Role

About You
