Job summary

Qualifications

  • Proven instructional experience within a flight training environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EASA/IAA aviation regulations and ATO requirements.
  • Minimum ICAO English level 5 or 6.
  • Knowledge of Aeronautical Legislation, rules and EASA PART-ORA, ATO Manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Flight, flight simulation and ground tuition – delivering instruction and completing paperwork and records.
  • Monitor student progress, conduct reviews, provide feedback, ensure flying standards are met.
  • Ensure training follows approved syllabi.
  • Maintain Health & Safety and act on IAA/AFTA instructions.
  • Monitor student welfare and discipline at all times.
  • Lead by example in dress and behaviour.
  • Maintain full and accountable records for management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and manuals.

Job description

Atlantic Flight Training Academy, Cork, Ireland are recruiting for full‑time, EASA licensed, unrestricted flight instructors, with additional privileges to teach IRI and ME preferred (IRI/CRI Instructors).

AFTA operates a large fleet of Cessna 172, Diamond DA40 & DA42, and Slingsby aircraft, training domestic and international cadets for some of the world’s largest airlines, and with Vulcanair P68 aircraft to support our aerial survey division, which provides variety to our instructors and allows them to develop their skills and breadth of experience.

We provide our flight instructors with a clear and consistent career path as there is room for unrestricted flight instructors to grow and progress to IRI & CRI positions within AFTA.

Main Responsibilities
  • Flight, flight simulation and ground tuition – delivering instruction to students and completing the associated paperwork and record keeping.
  • Monitoring student progress, carrying out student reviews, providing constructive feedback, ensuring flying standards are adhered to and being available if an issue arises.
  • Ensuring that training is conducted in accordance with the approved syllabi.
  • Maintaining a proactive approach to Health & Safety and acting upon any safety information or instructions in relation to flight operations and regulations as advised by the IAA and AFTA HT.
  • Ensuring that student welfare and discipline is monitored at all times.
  • Having a cheerful, authoritative, skilful manner and leading by example in both dress and behaviour.
  • Maintaining full and accountable records for AFTA management.
  • Ensuring that all company policies, procedures and manuals and statutory regulations are being adhered to.
Essential Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Qualifications
  • Hold a valid EASA CPL/MEIR FI (A) with unrestricted privileges.
  • Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) and Class Rating Instructor (CRI) privileges are considered a significant advantage.
  • Valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Proven instructional experience within a flight training environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EASA/IAA aviation regulations and ATO requirements.

  • Knowledge of Aeronautical Legislation, rules.
  • Knowledge of EASA PART‑ORA, ATO Manuals, ATPL theory subjects and practice is required along with knowledge of aircraft and the aviation industry.

Pay: From €36,605.00 per year
