Job summary

Le Boat is seeking a Base Manager to lead one of our bases in Carrick on Shannon. You will manage people, fleet, facilities and assets while driving service quality and supplier relationships.

You will recruit, train and motivate the team, plan resources, control costs, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. A hands-on leader with strong English communication will thrive in our travel-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ambitious, enthusiastic, strong general management skills and experience.
• Technical/maintenance and fleet management experience preferred (boats/cars).
• Great organiser and leader of people.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial mindset with track record of delivering results.
• Excellent PC skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Able to meet deadlines, targets and objectives.
• Willingness to travel as required by the business.
• Living locally and commutable to the base.
• Business fluency of English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee base operational and commercial performance within budgets.
• Ensure health & safety, regulatory compliance and safe boating operations.
• Lead, motivate and develop the team; recruit and train.
• Plan resources and control costs for efficient base operations.
• Manage fleet maintenance and readiness for charter.
• Run base, office and reception operations effectively.
• Hands-on duties including fleet/base maintenance as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle inquiries promptly.
• Deliver boat briefings and customer training to a high standard.
• Manage suppliers, purchasing, stock, invoices, payroll, licensing.
• Monitor customer satisfaction, sales and targets; report to Regional Manager.
• Ensure security and upkeep of buildings and assets.
