Overview

CREGG recruitment are working with our manufacturing client in Ballincollig, Cork in hiring a Fitters Mate.

This is a full-time permanent position, Monday – Friday, however, flexibility in travel and overtime is required.

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Fitter’s Mate to support our installation and maintenance teams on a variety of construction sites across Ireland. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is mechanically minded, has a good understanding of tools and drawings, and is willing to travel nationally to job sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Senior fitters with the installation and assembly of Toilet cubicles andwashroom systems
  • Read and interpret OTTOCAD drawings
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment with competence and care.
  • Ensure all work is carried out following health and safety procedures and site regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, both on-site and in transit.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and site supervisors.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime and ability to travel nationally and work away from Home when required – Essential
Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally and work away from home when required.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and diagrams beneficial.
  • Confident in the use of hand tools, power tools, and standard measuring instruments (e.g., tape measure, calipers).
  • Health and safety conscious, with a responsible approach to all site activities.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a range of environments including live construction sites, Commercial buildings and health care environments.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Full Irish driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Safe Pass certification – Essential and in date
  • Manual Handling – Beneficial but this will be conducted on site.
  • Prior experience in a construction, mechanical or engineering environment.
