A leading financial services firm is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Consultant in Limerick for an 8-month contract. You will report to the Divisional Manager and be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and liaising with audit firms. The ideal candidate has experience in investment management, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS. This role offers an hourly pay of €45 PAYE or €57.69 Ltd.

Financial Reporting Consultant

Location: Limerick

Duration: 8 months contract

Role

Financial Reporting – Senior Consultant

Reporting to a Divisional Manager or Head of Financial Reporting Ireland Operations – Limerick

Responsible for identifying and interpreting changes to accounting standards and regulations that will impact the client allocation within the department, as well as liaising with external audit firms to develop solutions regarding the impact of such changes.

The candidate will be responsible in assisting with the review of financial statements across the department in addition to identifying and implementing best practice across teams. The candidate will work closely with the training department to identify training needs and develop best practice solutions for Ireland FR and our outsourced locations.

The candidate will also work the management team with regards to client servicing, new business opportunities and client due diligence presentations.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Responsible for establishing best practice within the department to provide unrivalled client satisfaction and continuously improve the department’s performance to clients (internal and external) year on year.
  • Responsible for the reviewing and delivery of financial statements where required to ensure they are compliant with current accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Become the primary point of contact with each of our associated Audit Firms, work closely with the Audit Firms and facilitate technical briefs and updates for the department, thereby keeping abreast of industry and regulatory developments.
  • Represent the organisation’s Financial Reporting team at relevant external forums which have impact on our business.
  • Identify training and development needs and establish performance standards for the department.
  • Guide staff in the resolution of non-routine and complex financial reporting issues.
  • Liaise with Compliance and other relevant internal stakeholders where required.
Experience
  • Must have proven experience in the investment management industry acquired through working in the fund administration, asset management or securities operations industry or audit industry.
  • Financial reporting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building qualities and ability to motivate a team.
  • Strong communication, first class presentation and internal and external client-servicing skills.
  • Evidence of successful negotiation skills
  • Detailed knowledge of both onshore and offshore funds administration. In particular Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Irish regulatory regime as it relates to Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting.
Systems
  • Knowledge of the leading Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting systems. Experience with vendors preferred (Bloomberg, Reuters etc.).
  • Understanding of how Fund Accounting systems link and interface to other systems.
Process Skills
  • Ability to provide input into long term strategy for department.
Client Service
  • Experience of representing businesses to current clients via presentations etc.
  • Instil a client service culture among staff and ensure that all clients receive a quality service.
  • Contribute to the marketing and sales process to prospective clients via presentations, RFP responses etc.
People Management
  • Experience of designing and implementing development plans, training plans, best practice solutions for all levels of staff in various locations
  • Be an effective communicator, motivator, coach and mentor.
Business Management
  • As a manager, jointly manage the ongoing success of the organisation.
  • Whilst maintaining primary responsibility for Financial Reporting think creatively and ‘outside of the box’ in terms of taking joint responsibility for other areas.
