Job summary

Glanbia is a leading nutrition company seeking a Financial Controller - GES for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will oversee accounting, FP&A, service recharge processes and external audit, partnering with the GES management team.

Base location can be Citywest, Dublin 24 or Kilkenny with a hybrid working arrangement. The role reports to the Finance Director and offers a competitive package and the chance to influence global GES performance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop stakeholder management and business partnership with the global GES Senior Leadership Team for Finance, HR and IT GES business.
• Lead and develop a finance team responsible for month end, financial planning and ad hoc analysis.
• Responsible for the Month end close process and provide guidance on technical accounting matters.
• Lead commentary on the month end results for sharing with stakeholders.
• Act as the key contact for the external audit for GES entities; manage audit from planning to close.
• Lead FP&A and service recharge process for budget and forecast cycles.
• Oversee GES cash forecast process.
• Develop efficient ways of working through transformational project support.
• Ensure the internal control environment provides appropriate level of control assurance.
• Provide ad hoc project support as required.

Financial Controller (fixed term contract)

The opportunity

As the Financial Controller - GES, you will have full responsibility for all aspects of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Service Recharge Process, external audit as well as the business partnership service provided to the GES management team. The business partnership role is critical and you and your team will be a key point of contact on commercial finance, financial process as well as technical accounting matters for the global GES management team.

Key stakeholders at a senior level across Glanbia are the GES Senior Leadership Team, Group Finance, Group FP&A, Group Tax and Business Unit Finance. Ideally, you will be equally comfortable in the detail and as commentator on the performance of the GES business through presenting largely but not exclusively financial information to a broad stakeholder group.

This 12 month fixed term contract opportunity will report to the Finance Director

Key Responsibilities

• Develop an effective Stakeholder Management and Business Partnership relationship with the global GES Senior Leadership Team for the Finance, HR and IT GES business.
• Lead and develop an experienced finance team responsible for month end, financial planning and ad hoc analysis.
• Responsible for the Month end close process and review with a particular emphasis on providing guidance to the team on technical accounting matters and matters requiring specific judgement associated with business knowledge.
• Lead commentary on the month end-results for sharing with various stakeholders.
• Act as the key point of contact for the external audit of GES entities manage all aspects of the audit from planning to close.
• Lead the FP&A process for GES including supporting the presentation of service recharges to the business units and commentary of financial and non financial impacts of recharges for budget and forecast cycles.
• Oversee GES cash forecast process.
• Development of efficient ways of working through transformational project support.
• Ensure that the internal control environment in operation in GES provides the appropriate level of control assurance as it pertains to entities within the global GES organization.
• Other ad hoc project support as required.

The skills you will bring to the team

• Professional qualified accountant either ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent and retain membership of the relevant accounting body
• 5+ years finance experience in industry.
• Demonstrated technical accounting experience.
• Demonstrated experience of leading and managing teams in a fast-paced dynamic and changing environment.
• Demonstrated record of implementing change through technology to achieve continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated record of working to and managing tight deadlines.
• Record of leading effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
