About the Company

Our client is an established SME operating within the manufacturing sector, known for our commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. They are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller on a part-time basis to strengthen our internal financial capability and provide strategic financial support to the leadership team.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will play a key role in overseeing and improving the financial operations of the business. This position is ideal for a qualified finance professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and has a commercial mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial projections
  • Oversee financial controls, processes, and risk management frameworks
  • Monitor cost structures and provide analysis to support pricing and margin decisions
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, including VAT, PAYE, and year-end accounts
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions
  • Provide financial insight and support to inform strategic planning and business growth initiatives
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and reporting tools

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within an SME environment ideally
  • Strong technical accounting and commercial finance skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and Excel
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
