Job summary

Engage People Recruitment partners with a rapidly growing international biotechnology business to recruit a qualified Financial Controller.

You will lead monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting, oversee R&D expenditure and transfer pricing, and manage internal controls, treasury, cash flow and FX risk across global entities.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA.
• 5+ years progressive finance experience, 3+ years in Financial Controller or Assistant Controller.
• Biotech/Life sciences or international environment experience desirable.
• Strong knowledge of international financial reporting, multi-currency consolidations, transfer pricing and tax compliance.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Controller to join a rapidly growing international biotechnology business.

This is a key leadership role overseeing global financial reporting, compliance, financial controls, and multi-currency operations. You will play a pivotal role in supporting international expansion while managing the financial complexities of R&D investment, clinical trials, and cross-border operations.

You will:

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
• Oversee R&D expenditure, clinical trial accounting, and applicable tax credits and incentives.
• Manage internal controls, audit processes, treasury, cash flow, and foreign exchange risk.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and international tax arrangements.
• Support and lead finance teams across international locations.

Experience:

• ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA qualified.
• Minimum five years' progressive finance experience, ideally including three years in a Financial Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Experience within biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or a similar international environment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of international financial reporting, multi-currency consolidations, transfer pricing, and tax compliance.
