Function Overview:
The Finance Office is responsible for the provision of timely and insightful financial information to the Board, Executive and Management. It also has responsibility for the ongoing development of the company’s internal control procedures and financial information system to fulfil regulatory and statutory requirements. The Finance Department provides a key business partnering approach across all the Executive Directorates across the Group to support and enable delivery of EirGrid’s strategic objectives.

Job Purpose:
The Financial Operations Team is responsible for the EirGrid accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses, payments and financial accounting processes. The Finance Specialist has responsibility to ensure the accuracy, completeness and timely processing of all relevant transactions in accordance with company procedures. The role holder liaises with senior members of the team along with a range of internal and external contacts in a timely manner to ensure customer invoices, cash received, expenses and journals are processed in an efficient & timely manner. The candidate will play a key role in the Financial Operations team in delivering efficient and timely processing of transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the issuing of Customer invoices ensuring that all Customer Invoices are issued accurately & in a timely manner in line with company/regulatory timetables/deadlines;
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly Customer Invoices for various settlement schemes in line with regulatory timetables;
- Assist with the posting & allocation of Customer Payments received into various bank accounts on daily basis;
- Assist with management of the company credit cards;
- Assist with review and processing of employee expenses in line with Expenses Policy;
- Assist with maintaining and updating of supplier master data;
- Assist with the posting of financial accounting journals
- ERP system testing and enhancements;
- Identifying opportunities for improving and documenting existing processes and procedures, driving efficiency and embracing new technology;
- Any other associated ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ Finance experience ideally with a business or equivalent degree;
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver results;
- Numeracy skills and an analytical approach to work;
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise and organise work;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strong, positive and collaborative working relationships;
- Deliver a high level of customer service;
- Excellent knowledge of Excel;
- Previous experience with MS Dynamics AX or other ERP.
