Job summary

Cpl Group seeks a qualified accountant to act as a key liaison between local finance operations, external advisors, auditors, and the global finance organisation. Fluency in Romanian and English and strong technical accounting expertise are essential.

Responsibilities include leading monthly close, statutory reporting, audit coordination, and ensuring compliance with Romanian/Bulgarian statutory requirements, VAT, and transfer pricing. Prior multinational/SOX experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with 3+ years of accounting and finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Romanian accounting regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience managing audits and working with external auditors.
• Fluent Romanian, written and spoken - mandatory.
• Fluent English, written and spoken - mandatory.

• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

• Manage Romanian and Bulgarian statutory accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and company policies.
• Oversee compliance with reporting obligations.
• Support implementation and monitoring of new accounting standard changes.
• Support SOX and internal control compliance activities where applicable.
• Partner with internal and external tax advisors on corporate tax, VAT, and transfer pricing matters.
• Assist with local tax authority queries and compliance reviews.
• Ensure alignment between accounting records, tax filings, and statutory reporting.

The individual must be fluent in both Romanian and English and possess strong technical accounting expertise, together with a solid understanding of Romanian statutory, and tax requirements.

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

Financial Reporting & Close Management

• Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory financial reporting.
• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
