Synergy Recruitment Partners is seeking a Calibration & Validation Engineer to support customers across regulated industries in Ireland. The role focuses on calibration, validation and certification of laboratory and industrial equipment, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.

You will perform preventive maintenance on temperature-controlled equipment, verify probes (PT100, PT1000, Type T/K thermocouples, thermistors) and calibrate weighing instruments, reporting

Qualifications

• Qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in calibration, instrumentation, validation or similar engineering role.
• Experience with ISO quality systems (ISO 17025/9001).
• Experience in regulated environments (pharma, medical devices, labs).
• Strong fault-finding and repair skills.
• Good understanding of lab or industrial instrumentation.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance, calibration and certification of temperature-controlled equipment.
• Calibrate devices: fridges, freezers, ovens, incubators, cold rooms, warehouses.
• Calibrate temperature probes: PT100, PT1000, Type T/K thermocouples, thermistors.
• Calibrate and certify weighing equipment: balances, top pan, pit scales.
• Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of laboratory equipment.
• Complete accurate calibration reports and certification documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and related standards.
• Provide professional service and build strong customer relationships.

Calibration & Validation Engineer

We're looking for a Calibration & Validation Engineer to join a growing technical team supporting customers across regulated industries including pharmaceutical, medical device, laboratory and manufacturing environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in calibration, instrumentation, electrical or mechanical engineering who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and delivering high-quality technical service.

The Role

As a Calibration & Validation Engineer, you'll be responsible for the preventive maintenance, calibration and certification of a wide range of laboratory and industrial equipment, ensuring compliance with ISO quality standards and customer requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preventive maintenance, calibration and certification of temperature-controlled equipment including:
• Fridges & freezers
• Ovens
• Incubators
• Cold rooms & warehouses
• Calibration of temperature probes including:
• PT100
• PT1000
• Type T thermocouples
• Type K thermocouples
• Thermistors
• Calibration and certification of weighing equipment including:
• Analytical & semi-micro balances
• Ultra-micro & micro balances
• Top pan balances
• Pit scales
• Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of laboratory equipment.
• Completing accurate calibration reports and certification documentation.
• Ensuring all work complies with ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and relevant quality standards.
• Providing a professional service while building strong customer relationships.

What We're Looking For You'll ideally have:

• A qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience in calibration, instrumentation, validation or a similar technical engineering role.
• Experience working within ISO quality systems (ISO 17025, ISO 9001 or similar).
• Exposure to regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, medical device or laboratory industries.
• Strong fault-finding and repair skills.
• Good understanding of laboratory or industrial instrumentation.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent attention to detail.
