Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in wildlife management or nature conservation.
• Good knowledge of wildlife conservation.
• Ability to write concise reports and maintain records.
• Good IT skills for word-processing, data analysis and report-writing.
• Decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability for foot patrols.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Customer service experience and ability to deal with the public.
• Excellent English communication, written and spoken.
• Flexibility, resilience and adaptability to changing environments.
• Full driving licence (Category B) valid in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wildlife and habitats and enforce Wildlife Acts and licences.
• Work as part of NPWS regional teams to implement nature policies.
• Engage with the public and stakeholders in conservation work.
• Record-keeping, data collection and reporting on field activities.
• Carry out field surveys and assist in management of habitats.
• Provide support across diverse geographical locations nationwide.
