Job summary

KDW Fencing ltd T/a KDW Facilities is seeking a General Maintenance Operative to join our team in Ireland. The role is primarily focused on grounds maintenance, with additional duties including fencing, general facility cleaning, driving, and operational support as required.

You will install fencing, maintain lawns, trim hedges, apply treatments, and operate grounds equipment as needed. The position offers steady hours and on-site parking as a benefit.

Qualifications

• Must have grounds maintenance experience and operate ride-on mowers and related equipment.
• Comfortable working at height and using equipment safely.
• Must hold Safe Pass and a full Irish driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Install gates, railings, fences etc.
• Maintain lawns, verges, and outdoor areas through mowing, scarifying, and edging.
• Prune hedges, shrubs, weed, leaf clearance and horticultural upkeep.
• Apply fertilisers, weedkillers, or gritting/de-icing materials.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment and report faults.
• Clean offices and welfare facilities.
• Transport staff and equipment to locations; perform basic vehicle checks.
• Report safety concerns to supervisor.
• Follow health and company policies; support team.
• Fix leaks, unblock drains, replace light bulbs.
• Carpentry tasks, assemble furniture, install shelving.
• Touch up paint interior/exterior, fill gaps.

Job description

We are looking for a versatile and hardworking General Maintenance Operative to join our team. The role is primarily focused on Grounds maintenance, with additional duties including Fencing, general facility cleaning, driving, and operational support as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install Fencing, gates, railings, etc.
• Maintain lawns, verges, and outdoor green areas through regular mowing, scarifying, and edging to a high standard.
• Carry out hedge trimming, shrub pruning, weeding, leaf clearance, and general horticultural upkeep across all grounds.
• Apply treatments such as fertilisers, weedkillers, or gritting/de-icing materials as directed and in line with relevant regulations.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment, including ride-on mowers, strimmers, blowers, and hedge cutters, reporting faults promptly.
• Carry out general office and welfare facility cleaning (floors, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas) as required.
• Transport staff, equipment, and supplies to job locations as required, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and performing basic vehicle checks.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or equipment faults to the supervisor immediately.
• Follow all health, safety, and company policies at all times and support the wider team with operational tasks as needed.
• Fix leaks, unblock drains, and replace light bulbs.
• Perform basic carpentry tasks, assemble and move furniture, and install shelving or window locks.
• Apply touch-up paint to interior and exterior walls and fill gaps or crevices

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work solo.
• Experience in grounds maintenance including the operation of ride-on mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, and related equipment.
• Ability to work at height and operate specialist equipment safely.
• Valid full irish driving licence required.
• Physically fit and able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good time management, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Safepass required.
• Manual Handling required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From €16.00 per hour
