Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest indigenous consultancies specialising in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, and Energy and Renewables.

FT provides consultancy services for a wide range of renewable energy projects including offshore wind, onshore wind, commercial scale solar PV, biomass and micro-hydro power. FT also provides professional services for gas pipelines, electrical infrastructure including battery storage and peaking plants and energy from waste projects.

FT is seeking to recruit a Principal Engineer to join our Energy team in either the Cork, Dublin or Carlow office. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the growth of our Energy and Planning division, working collaboratively with a team of experienced professionals.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of activities within the Energy and Planning sector including (but not limited to) project management, environmental assessments, and preliminary design for renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Planning and overseeing design activities in close collaboration with project teams
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contributing to the preparation of tenders and proposals
  • Providing line management and leadership to team members
  • Ensuring compliance with our quality assurance systems, management procedures, and relevant health and safety legislation
  • Coordinating effectively with colleagues and other team members across disciplines
Skills / Qualifications
  • A degree in Civil Engineering
  • A minimum of 12 years’ post-graduate experience
  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills
  • Proven experience in engaging with external stakeholders, clients and sub-contractors
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and an effective team player
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Experience in project managing the preliminary civil design of renewable energy projects is advantageous, though not essential
