Job summary

Cpl Group is seeking a Farm Sustainability Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Munster. The role targets an agriculture graduate or those with 1–2 years of industry experience, focusing on promoting sustainable farming and water quality improvements across the region.

The successful candidate will work with farmers and industry stakeholders, delivering practical recommendations from farm visits and reports while supporting sustainability initiatives and actions within a collaborative

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science or related field is essential.
  • Strong understanding of agriculture, sustainability and dairy farming systems.
  • Ability to assess water quality requirements at the farm level.

Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date on new technologies, projects and policy changes.
  • Support development and implementation of sustainability goals.
  • Communicate initiatives to farmers, suppliers, customers and stakeholders.
  • Organise farm walks, webinars and engagement events.
  • Collaborate with Teagasc, County Councils and other stakeholders on sustainability projects.
  • Support programmes focused on water quality and sustainable farming practices.
  • Manage workloads and prioritize short-term needs with long-term objectives.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Farm Sustainability Advisor

Munster | Full-Time | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

€40 000 - €45 000

Our client, a leading organisation within the Irish agricultural sector, is seeking a Farm Sustainability Advisor to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This opportunity would suit a recent Agriculture graduate or someone with 1-2 years' industry experience looking to build their career within agricultural sustainability.

The successful candidate will work closely with farmers, industry stakeholders, and internal teams to support sustainability initiatives, promote best practice farming methods, and help improve water quality outcomes across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stay up to date on new technologies, projects, policy changes, and agricultural sustainability developments.
  • Support the development and implementation of the organisation's sustainability goals and agenda.
  • Communicate sustainability initiatives and programmes to farmers, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders through a variety of communication channels.
  • Organise and participate in farm walks, webinars, educational events, and other farmer engagement activities.
  • Work with external organisations, including Teagasc, County Councils, and other industry stakeholders on sustainability-related projects.
  • Support programmes focused on water quality and sustainable farming practices.
  • Manage workloads effectively, prioritising immediate requirements while delivering on longer-term objectives.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science, Dairy Science, Sustainability, Ecology, or a related discipline is essential.
  • Good understanding of agriculture, sustainability, and dairy farming systems.
  • Knowledge of requirements relating to improving and protecting water quality at farm level.
  • Ability to complete farm visits independently and provide practical recommendations.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare farm-specific reports and recommendations following farm visits.
  • Ability to work with farmers to develop realistic and cost-effective action plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence and engage with farmers and other stakeholders.
  • Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Full clean driver's licence.
