Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Ireland is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to coordinate and deliver facility/utility projects at Donegal Town. You will support a facilities management program ensuring safe, reliable utilities and building services for Abbott’s manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you’ll supervise contractors, validate protocols, and drive cost improvements while maintaining health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years related work experience.
• Certificate/Craft Certificate/Third Level Qualification in Engineering/Automation/Mechanical/Electrical

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement facility/utility projects and support facilities management.
• Interact with Architects, M&E designers/engineers on building services.
• Oversee installation of building systems and maintain procedures.
• Validate protocols, trials and reports for facilities/utilities.
• Perform data analysis, evaluate results and drive improvements.
• Identify cost improvements and opportunities for facility operations.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs.

Reporting into the Facilities Manager and Site Services Manager, you will coordinate and implement facility/utility projects and support facilities management program to deliver safe and reliable utilities/facilities for customers and business.

Major Responsibilities:

• Interacting with Architects, M&E Designers/Engineers on matters relating to building services.


• Assisting Design teams on development of site-specific Facility/Utility equipment/processes as required.


• Commissioning, organising and assessing the work of contractors.


• Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.


• Making life‑cycle outcomes about existing systems equipment and the appropriate location of new equipment.


• Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.


• Generate and execute validation protocols, trials/ studies and create associated reports for facilities/utilities.


• Performing and analysing data, evaluating results, forming conclusions & contributing to Facility/Utility process improvements.


• Identification and implementation of Cost Improvement and innovative Opportunities for Facility Operations.


• Oversight of facilities/utilities preventative maintenance program
