Job summary

Walls Construction is seeking a Facade Supervisor to lead the onsite construction of brick façades in Ireland. You will act as the primary contact and coordinator for bricklayers, brickwork installers, window installers, scaffolders, and fire barrier installers, working closely with the Site Manager, Site Engineers and Project Manager to drive brickwork quality and output on the project.

You will manage labour, materials and subcontractors, review drawings, ensure adherence to design

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Bricklaying or Masonry Construction.
• SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent supervisory qualification would be advantageous.
• Full driving licence and ability to travel between project locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate bricklaying operatives and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and on programme.
• Plan daily/weekly activities, allocate labour, materials and equipment to maximise productivity.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure masonry works meet design requirements.
• Monitor workmanship and carry out quality inspections for brickwork and masonry installations.
• Coordinate material deliveries, storage and usage on site to minimise waste and maintain progress.
• Liaise with site management to coordinate works and resolve issues.
• Identify and address challenges, implementing practical solutions to maintain progress.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and risk assessments.

The role will act as the primary contact and coordinator for the Bricklayers, Brickwork accessories installers, Window installers, scaffolders, fire barrier installers etc. The Façade Supervisor will be working closely with the Site Manager, Site Engineers and Project Manager. The Façade Supervisor will drive Brickwork quality and output on the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate bricklaying operatives and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project programmes.
• Plan daily and weekly activities, allocating labour, materials and equipment to maximise productivity and meet construction milestones.
• Review drawings, specifications and construction details to ensure masonry works are delivered in accordance with design requirements.
• Monitor workmanship standards and carry out regular quality inspections to ensure all brickwork, blockwork and masonry installations meet company and client expectations.
• Coordinate material deliveries, storage and usage on site, minimising waste and ensuring sufficient resources are available to maintain progress.
• Liaise closely with Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and other trade supervisors to coordinate works and resolve site issues.
• Identify and address technical, logistical and labour-related challenges, implementing practical solutions to maintain programme objectives.
• Ensure compliance with project-specific method statements, risk assessments and company health & safety policies, promoting a strong safety culture across all masonry activities.
• Monitor progress against programme requirements and provide regular updates to Site Management, highlighting risks, delays and mitigation measures.
• Maintain accurate site records including labour returns, progress reports, quality inspections and site instructions.
• Assist with the training, mentoring and development of bricklaying operatives and apprentices, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
• Support project handover activities, ensuring snagging items are completed promptly and all masonry works are delivered to the required standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bricklaying Foreman, Lead Bricklayer or similar supervisory role on residential, commercial, industrial or large-scale construction projects.
• Extensive practical knowledge of brickwork, blockwork, masonry construction techniques and associated construction processes.
• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical details.
• Demonstrated experience managing site labour, subcontractors and material resources to achieve programme targets.
• Sound understanding of quality control procedures and workmanship standards within masonry construction.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and build strong working relationships with site management, clients and subcontractors.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Good understanding of health & safety legislation, safe systems of work and site compliance requirements.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; experience using digital site reporting and project management systems is desirable.
• Relevant trade qualification in Bricklaying or Masonry Construction. SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent site supervisory qualification would be advantageous.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel between project locations as required.
