Job summary

Writech Group is seeking an Electrician to support manufacturing and installation activities. The role covers installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical components in line with wiring regulations while aligning with company values and goals.

The Electrician will report to the Assembly Team Leader and may be required to assist on site-based activities, ensuring client satisfaction and timely completion of works.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical components and test/commission installations as required.
• Support site-based activities as needed.
• Electrical installation of alarm valve skids and pumphouses for client sites.
• Testing of alarm valve skids and modular pumphouses.
• Electrical maintenance works at Writech HQ as required.
• Coordinate with onsite Supervisors, Project Engineers, contractors, and client Managers to ensure timelines.
• Develop and implement electrical checklists with Project Engineers and Designers.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and training on electrical processes.
• Update and revise Company Electrical Manuals, SOPs, and Work Instructions as needed.
• Promote a positive HSEQ culture and safe work environment.
• Report accidents or near misses to the Direct Manager via the App.

THE ROLE

The Electrician will support the Operations team in enhancing our manufacturing and installation activities across the business. The Electrician will be responsible for installation and testing of all electrical components as per electrical wiring regulations, testing verification and commissioning of installations where required. Implement the Electrical Strategy in line with the Company Values, strategy & operational goals.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Electrical Qualification & experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years working experience in construction industry
• Demonstrated skills in Electrical works and technical ability preferably in Fire Protection Industry
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise work and manage challenging workload
• Flexible, adaptable and can-do attitude to work
• Proven record of building and sustaining effective and professional working relationships; being a trusted advisor to colleagues and site personnel
• Excellent working knowledge of electrical regulations
• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and reliability skills.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Experience of working with a mechanical and electrical contractor
• Train the Trainer or similar Qualification

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installation of all electrical components as per electrical wiring regulations, testing verification and commissioning of installations where required.
• You may be required to support with site based activities.
• Electrical installation of various alarm valve skids and pumphouses for client sites.
• Testing of various alarm valve skids and modular pumphouses.
• Electrical maintenance works carried out throughout Writech HQ where required.
• Liaise with onsite Supervisors, Project Engineers, contractors, client Managers, etc. to ensure Client satisfaction is upheld and schedule of works is completed as per timelines.
• Cross department collaboration to ensure successful completion of tasks to the standards required.
• Develop and implement electrical component checklists and pick lists in conjunction with Project Engineers and Designers.
• Provide support and guidance to Project Engineers and Designers on electrical installation policies and procedures.
• Update and revise Company Electrical Manuals, SOP’s, Work Instructions in a timely manner when required.
• Provide on the job coaching, mentoring and training on electrical processes to colleagues when requested.
• Collaboration with Site Supervisors, Design, Engineering and Assembly Mechanical teams to ensure job completion as per client specifications.
• Complete any training provided and be open to learning and continual improvement.
• Report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately to your Direct Manager through the App.
• Complete daily timesheet in the Writech App.
• Submit positive/constructive feedback regularly into the Writech Feedback App.
• Wear the required PPE at all the times.
• Submit good catches or safety positive feedback regularly into the H&S Incident Reports section of the Feedback App.
• Keeping up to date on all current and future changes of electrical regulations where relevant to the role and implement changes as part of operational excellence.
• Other adhoc electrical requests as required by the business.
• Promote and maintain a positive HSEQ culture and safe work environment in conjunction with the Writech Health & Safety Statement.
• Proactively engage in all quality initiatives while ensuring best practice standards are promoted and maintained.
• Ensure all written documentation is accurate, timely and legible, keeping all records up to date at all times.
