Job summary

Tichome Ltd, trading as Lavin's Fruit and Veg, currently seeks an experienced HGV Driver to join our Castlebar team. This full-time, permanent role involves delivering fresh fruit and vegetables across our fleet, including vans, rigid trucks and articulated vehicles.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with multi-stop deliveries, loading and unloading, and a strong focus on customer service. Valid licences (B/C/C1E), CPC and tachograph card are essential for daily operations in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Previous experience delivering fresh fruit and vegetables – ESSENTIAL.
• Experience with multi-stop/multi-drop deliveries – ESSENTIAL.
• Experience from picking orders to loading, delivering and returns – ESSENTIAL.

Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare customer orders from picking slips, ensuring correct products and quantities.
• Load vehicles safely and with care for produce quality.
• Complete multi-stop deliveries to customers across the country.
• Ensure correct products are delivered to the right customers.
• Maintain quality of produce during loading, transport and delivery.
• Deal professionally with customers and delivery queries.
• Unload remaining products/returns as required on return to depot.
• Assist with loading and dispatch duties as needed.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks (tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water, fuel).
• Maintain accurate records of delivery times, mileage and hours worked.
• Drive company vehicles safely and comply with road traffic and company requirements.
